{"id":124727,"date":"2025-03-31T07:26:17","date_gmt":"2025-03-31T07:26:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adamfayed.com\/?p=124727"},"modified":"2025-10-22T06:27:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T06:27:23","slug":"warning-impersonation-scams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adamfayed.com\/es\/uncategorized\/warning-impersonation-scams\/","title":{"rendered":"Advertencia: estafas de suplantaci\u00f3n de identidad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Like all growing organisations, we have been targeted by impersonation attempts that seek to defraud our clients, followers and stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most people get scammed once (or more than once) in their lifetime, myself included, so don\u2019t assume you are automatically too smart to fall for these tactics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, as AI improves, video and voice messages could become targets\u2014my image and voice could be used to scam others when I didn\u2019t create the message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a checklist to ensure you aren\u2019t scammed and stay safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. We never ask you to pay us directly<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We will never ask you to pay me or my organisation directly to make investments. We only get paid by setting up accounts with third-party investment providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We do have some fee-based services where you pay our company directly, but that is in return for conducting a specific service such as a consultation- it isn\u2019t to send the money on for an investment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you ever have somebody asking you to send money to them, pretending to be me, ignore and report the profiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. An exaggerated sense of urgency<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Everybody wants to get things done, and few people like procrastination. However, to start a new investment, you must send us your proof of ID and address and complete an application form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Setting up an account with these third-party providers typically takes one to five working days. You will receive a confirmation email or message confirming that you are approved to send the money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If somebody asks you to send money in hours to an account, and no third-party investment has been set up, then this is a major red flag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. We never suggest sending money to an individual or a random company name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, the only beneficiary bank accounts our clients have sent money to in Luxembourg is <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/adamfayed.com\/es\/moventum-platform-luxembourg-review\/\" title=\"Moventum\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1886\">Moventum<\/a>, a third-party investment platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Be careful with links<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Email spoofing is when scammers manipulate email headers to make them appear to originate from the sender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, I sometimes get emails claiming to be from Warren Buffett and myself, for that matter!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be careful when opening attachments on an email if something seems \u201coff\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>6. Crypto and FX<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We don\u2019t get paid in crypto or sell FX services. Therefore, ignore any messages pretending to be me that ask to be paid in crypto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>7.
