What is Bank One?

Bank One is a licensed financial institution operating under the supervision of the Bank of Mauritius (BOM), with various licenses issued by the Financial Services Commission, including those for insurance agency services, distribution of financial products, investment advisory services, and custodian services.
The bank maintains a strong regional presence across several African countries, including Madagascar, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Mauritius, with broader coverage extending to Malawi, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Botswana, Namibia, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

CIEL Finance is a subsidiary of CIEL Limited, one of the largest conglomerates in Mauritius with operations across 10 countries and a workforce of approximately 35,000 employees. CIEL Limited is publicly listed in Mauritius.
I&M Group is a diversified financial services entity with interests in banking, insurance, manufacturing, and real estate. Operating in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Mauritius, the group is listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange and is among Kenya’s oldest publicly owned companies.

- Moonesar (Sunil) Ramgobin – Chief Executive Officer
Sunil Ramgobin is a seasoned banking professional with over 30 years of experience in Corporate and Investment Banking, Retail Banking, Business/SME Banking, Wealth Management, Custody, and Islamic Banking. Before joining Bank One, he served as Chief Business Officer and Executive Director at Absa Bank (Mauritius) Limited. He has held leadership positions at financial institutions in the Middle East and Mauritius, including Al Rajhi Bank, BNP Paribas, BPCE Group, SBM, and Standard Bank Group. Sunil became CEO of Bank One on October 11, 2024.
- Guillaume Passebecq – Head of Private Banking & Wealth Management
Guillaume Passebecq is an IDRAC graduate with a career dedicated to banking. He started as a Portfolio Manager at BNP Paribas’ B*capital Paris in 1999 and later became Head of Sales at BNP Paribas Personal Investors Luxembourg. In 2014, he joined AfrAsia Bank as Head of Private Banking, focusing on European markets. Guillaume joined Bank One in March 2017, bringing expertise in managing High Net Worth clients.
- Rishyraj Lutchman – Head of Treasury
Rishyraj Lutchman, holding an ACI Diploma and a BBA from the Management College of Southern Africa, worked for 26 years in the Treasury division of SBM before joining Bank One in February 2014. At SBM, he gained extensive experience in sales, interbank, and fixed income operations. He previously held the role of Chief Dealer at SBM.
- Eric Hautefeuille – Chief Operating Officer
With nearly 30 years in banking, Eric Hautefeuille spent 24 years at Société Générale, holding senior roles across Europe, Asia, and Africa. His positions included Chief Information Officer and Project Director in Cameroon and Tahiti, Head of Operations in China, and COO in India. Before joining Bank One in October 2020, Eric was COO and Head of Transformation at BNI Madagascar, where he developed mobile and digital microfinance solutions.
- Ranjeevesingh (Ranjeeve) Gowreesunkur – Chief Financial Officer
Ranjeeve Gowreesunkur joined Bank One in 2008 as Financial Accountant, bringing over 20 years of banking experience from roles at Union Bank, Delphis Bank, First City Bank, SBI (Mauritius), and Deutsche Bank (Mauritius). He served as Head of Finance for six years before becoming CFO in 2014. A Fellow of the ACCA and a registered Professional Accountant in Mauritius, Ranjeeve also holds an MBA in Finance from Heriot-Watt University.
