This article will speak about getting a job as a wealth manager or financial advisory firm overseas and the options you have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is after many people asked me how to get into international financial services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option One – Get transferred overseas by your current employer<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you are employed by a large bank or financial services company and they have a branch overseas, you might be able to request an internal transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, opportunities are likely to be limited if you go down this route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option Two- Work remotely for your current employer<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If option one doesn\u2019t work for you, you can ask your current employer whether or not it is possible to work remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some employers might be worried about the tax implications of having staff overseas, but some might be able minded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some firms, like our own, have staff all around the world, and we don\u2019t have an issue with remote staff within reason and depending on the country in question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option Three – Get a salaried job overseas<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Especially when you are young, you might want to have the security of a salary. There are plenty of firms that have graduate schemes, and initial salaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option Four – Work fee-only<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you want the chance to earn as much money as possible, but don\u2019t want the stress of starting your own business, you can work fee-only for a company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advantage of this is that your fee split might be quite high, due to the fact that you aren\u2019t a big risk for the company because of the lack of salary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option 5 – Sell out and start again<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you have a financial services practice in one country, you might want to sell out, and use that capital to start again overseas,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have bought out financial planners and advisors before, and one reason why some people sell is due to retirement or a move to another country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
