Expats who qualify for NHR status may benefit from a range of tax exemptions and reduced rates on foreign-source income for a period of 10 years.
Currently, however, NHR applications are no longer accepted under the present NHR framework after December 31, 2023, and the process is currently limited to those who have taken the required steps to establish a tax residence or resident in Portugal by the end of last year.
