There are plenty of excellent EVs, SUVs, sedans, and sports cars available, making it simple to pick the vehicle that best suits your needs and lifestyle.

Our selection of cars under $100k includes several entry-level models as well as some higher-level trims with more equipment and more powerful engines. In each case, though, we choose the model that is the closest to $100,000.

2. 2021 Audi A8

Starting MSRP: $87,545

Starting Market Avg.: $86,993

  • Pros: The cabin is quiet and luxurious. Excellent legroom in the backseat. Standard technology that is impressive. It’s a safe and fun car to drive.

The A8’s cabin is made of high-quality materials, and it rides on an air suspension with auto-leveling. Passengers in the back get limo-like spaciousness with the option of power-reclining and massage.

It’s still athletic, like an Audi, complete with turbocharged engines and all-wheel drive. The Audi A8 is a 5-seater car available in two trim levels. The most popular model is the L 60 TFSI e quattro, which begins at $96,945 and has a Plug-In Hybrid 3.0L V6 Turbo engine and All Wheel Drive. The Audi A8 is an ultra-luxury sedan for individuals who prefer refined elegance and timeless comfort with a more modest approach than its more showy competitors. It has a long number of standard features, some of which are uncommon in other vehicles. The smooth ride and seamless power of the car are made possible by the leather-lined cabin’s quietness.

The A8 is also a lot of fun to drive, thanks to its nimble handling and rally-derived all-wheel-drive system. But this is a car designed to transport passengers around town and on the highway, with soft seats and high-quality materials.

Audi also executes technology better than virtually everyone else, despite the fact that some competitors appear glitzier and more costly. However, it is the Audi’s understated quality that distinguishes it from other high-end vehicles, offering passengers with all of the luxuries they might want in a civilized package designed to manage daily life.

5. 2022 Lexus LC

Starting MSRP: $94,125

Starting Market Avg.: $96,978

  • Pros: Design that stands out; cabin of exceptional quality; the available hybrid has impressive fuel efficiency.
  • Cons: Cargo space is limited; backseat is cramped; sportier handling is offered by competitors.

The Lexus LC is available in coupe and convertible body types, and its sumptuous interior and sharp external aesthetics set it apart from other premium sports cars. Due to low storage capacity and short rear-seat legroom, it isn’t as practical as other competitors. The Lexus LC is a four-seater car with two trim options.

The LC 500 Coupe, which begins at $94,125 and features a 5.0L V8 engine and Rear Wheel Drive, is the most popular style. This LC is expected to get 16 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Lexus LC is an attractive choice in its market, combining grandeur with performance. Its cabin is as comfortable as it comes, using the best materials. And the car’s powerful V8 (a fuel-efficient hybrid engine is also available) is a wonderful fit for its smooth handling and sophisticated road manners.

On the negative side, the Lexus LC lacks utility. Other options in this class offer significantly greater cargo space. The BMW 8 Series offers more than double the cargo space of the LC.

When it comes to athleticism, competing vehicles like the Jaguar F-Type are more track-focused and energetic. Still, if you want a high-end sports vehicle with a focus on design, elegance, and comfort, the sleek LC is a great option.

7. 2022 Porsche Panamera

Starting MSRP: $89,750

Starting Market Avg.: $91,181

  • Pros: A four-door version of a sports automobile; handling with confidence and poise; seats are excellent.
  • Cons: User-interface issues with haptics; among sport sedans, the ride isn’t the most forgiving.

Consider the Porsche Panamera to be a linebacker: it’s big, it’s heavy, and it moves with confidence, yet it’s also surprisingly swift and agile for its size. The Porsche Panamera is a four-seater with 11 different trim options. The 4 AWD, which begins at $94,350 and features a 2.9L V6 Turbo engine and All Wheel Drive, is the most popular model. This Panamera is expected to get 18 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.

Porsche took the jump and built the four-door Panamera sedan after decades of producing exclusively two-door cars. The Panamera, thankfully, has the same sporty feel as its two-door siblings. With a well adjusted suspension and strong engines, it makes up for its size and weight. The inside is also shockingly roomy, with enough of legroom in the back seats for adults. The Porsche offers a diverse selection of features and options thanks to its extensive engine and trim lineup.

The success of the Panamera has resulted in a slew of rivals. The BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe is a sporty four-door with a performance bent. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT four-door coupe, a low-slung sedan with multiple levels of performance to please even the most ardent aficionados, is another option.

9. 2022 Porsche 718 Boxster

Starting MSRP: $63,950

Starting Market Avg.: $65,643

  • Pros: Handling and design that is precise; a flat-six engine is available, and it produces enthralling power and sound.
  • Cons: Storage and high-tech elements are missing from the minimalist cabin; the cost of alternatives quickly rises.

The Porsche 718 Boxster is one of the purest sports cars money can buy, with its quick chassis, strong engines, and no-nonsense interior. It’s frosting on the cake that it’s also one of the company’s most affordable versions.

The Porsche 718 Boxster is a two-seater that is available in six different trim levels. The GTS 4.0 Roadster, which begins at $90,850 and has a 4.0L H6 engine and Rear Wheel Drive, is the most popular style. This 718 Boxster is expected to get 17 MPG in town and 24 MPG on the interstate.

The Porsche 718 Boxster is the company’s entry-level sports vehicle. The Porsche 718 Cayman coupe’s mid-engine base and powerplant are shared with the drop-top two-seater. Despite costing tens of thousands less, both models equal the legendary Porsche 911 in terms of driving enjoyment. That’s owing to the 718 Boxster’s excellent weight balance, which not only helps it achieve supercar-like speed but also offers arias of internal-combustion music right to your ears.

The turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces plenty of power, with 2.0- and 2.5-liter models producing 300 and 350 horsepower, respectively. The optional 4.0-liter flat-six, though, is where the real magic happens.

When revved to its redline of 7800 rpm, it delivers a hefty 394 horsepower and sounds positively Wagnerian. Either engine is available with a six-speed manual transmission or Porsche’s outstanding seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (known as PDK). There’s plenty of room for two inside the 718 Boxster. That’s all there is to it.

There isn’t much storage, and its somewhat high-quality cabin is lacking in amenities, at least until you start adding choices from the large list. However, we don’t think most purchasers will be bothered by this. After all, the 718 Boxster’s purpose is to excite rather than comfort its passengers.

10. 2022 Porsche Taycan

Starting MSRP: $84,050

Starting Market Avg.: $85,838

  • Pros: Driving dynamics and sensational acceleration; interior with a drab appearance; charges quickly
  • Cons: This is a poor range for its class; the higher the trim level, the more likely it is that you may experience sticker shock.

The Taycan is Porsche’s first and only all-electric car. The model is now in its third year.  The four-seater is about the same size as that of the gasoline-powered Porsche Panamera, and it comes in sedan and wagon body types, with the latter being marketed as Cross Turismo.

If the aim with the Taycan was to create an electric vehicle that met Porsche’s high performance standards, it was done. It’s without a doubt one of the most exciting vehicles to drive, electric or not.

The Taycan can not only accelerate and perform like a sports car, but it can also give a quiet and smooth ride, as well as a sumptuous and high-tech cabin deserving its hefty list price. Aside from the Taycan’s high price, which can reach $200,000 when fully outfitted, another disadvantage is its limited electric range.

The Taycan’s base model has a range of 200 miles, which is half that of its closest competition, the Tesla Model S. Porsche has equipped all Taycans with a quick charging mechanism to assist minimize the issue. The Taycan is also difficult to top in terms of fun per mile.
