  1. Wealthy individuals are leaving Canada and the UK due to various factors. In the UK, high tax rates, particularly for non-domiciled individuals, are a significant driver of this exodus. The country’s capital gains tax and estate duty rates are among the highest globally, deterring wealthy business owners and retirees from staying ¹.

Another factor is the UK’s dwindling importance in the global financial landscape. The London Stock Exchange, once the largest in the world, now ranks 11th globally. This decline, combined with the growing dominance of the US and Asia in the tech industry, has led some wealthy UK tech entrepreneurs to reconsider their base location ¹.

Additionally, the UK’s healthcare system is deteriorating, with increasing safety concerns, especially in big cities like London. This has prompted some wealthy individuals to seek better healthcare options elsewhere ¹.

In Canada, while specific reasons are not explicitly stated, it’s likely that similar factors, such as high taxes and regulatory changes, are contributing to the wealth exodus.

Many of these individuals are relocating to countries with more favorable tax environments, such as the UAE, which offers a tax-free income policy, or EU countries like Italy, Malta, and Greece, which provide a more relaxed lifestyle and attractive amenities ² ³.

  2. After reading and observing, the conversation about relocating base. I would recommend the Bahamas, a good place to do business. It’s proximity to other international markets. The ease of doing business is very favourable. Come here and experience it for yourself.
