The company claims that the fact that it is based on the Isle of Man, a well-known global financial center with an exceptional reputation for investment safety and several accolades from around the globe, gives tremendous comfort to its consumers.

Additionally, Moody’s assigned the Isle of Man an Aa3 stable rating in 2023.

The island, which employs 9,000 people in the financial services sector, is also acknowledged by the International Monetary Fund as an outstanding offshore finance center of regulation.

What is the history of Friends Provident International?

FPI has more than 40 years of experience in the global market for life insurance.

When the Isle of Man welcomed its first offshore life assurance companies in 1978, the company was among the first financial institutions to locate there.

One of these companies was Lloyd’s Life (Isle of Man), which eventually changed its name to Royal Life International, Royal and Sun Alliance International Financial Services, and finally Friends Provident International in 2002.

FPI was purchased by International Financial Group Ltd in July 2020 from Aviva. With more than 200,000 customers, USD23 billion in assets under management, and 570 employees as of December 31, 2022, IFGL offers investing, savings, and protection products to foreign investors all over the world.

The purchase of FPI parent IFGL by worldwide private equity firm Cinven was a noteworthy milestone for the company in 2023. With the regulatory approval of this shift in the main investment from Vitruvian Partners to Cinven, FPI entered a new stage of growth and expansion.

The IFGL group also includes RL360 and Ardan International.

The founder of Friends Provident International is Clive Cowdery.
